Langsa, May 21, 2024 – In an effort to strengthen the foundations of peace in Aceh, LaKaspia, in collaboration with Nonviolent Peaceforce and supported by Kingdom of The Netherlands, has successfully organized a training titled “Basics of Civil Protection for Students and Youth Organizations (OKP) in Langsa”. The event was held in the VIP Room of Kopi Liqa, Langsa, attended by 30 students from various Universities and youth organizations.
Enhancing awareness and capacity of the young generation, direktor LaKaspia, Halik, S.S., M.Si., emphasized the importance of this training in his speech, “This activity aims to increase the awareness and capacity of the young generation regarding civil society protection. We hope this can encourage the breaking of the chain of violence and support sustainable peace in Aceh.”
The interactive discussion and material presentation facilitated by Heri Saputra, SH., along with two speakers, Dr. Muhammad Suhaili Sufyan, Lc., MA (Lecturer at IAIN Cot Kala Langsa) and Khairil, SH., (Director of the Koalisi NGO-HAM Aceh) provided an in-depth exploration. Participants gained insights into civil society protection from acts of violence by the state, non-state entities, and communities.
This training is part of the joint commitment of LaKaspia, Nonviolent Peaceforce, and the Kingdom of The Netherlands in nurturing sustainable peace in Aceh.*@
